Endebess Estate has a rich history can be traced back to the 1940s, when it was under the ownership of Mr. EW D'Ollier's family. During that time, the farm not only produced coffee for the D'Olliers but also supported small-scale farmers in the surrounding area. In 1976, the farm changed hands and was sold to Gatatha Farmers Co Ltd, who managed its operations until September 2011 when the current owners took over.
The coffee production at Endebess Estate begins with the careful selection of handpicked cherries, harvested when they reach their optimal ripeness between the months of October and December. These cherries are then dried on raised African beds, a meticulous and slow drying process that can extend up to seven weeks. This method ensures the preservation of the coffee's unique flavors and qualities.
The management and current owners of the farm demonstrate a sincere concern for the well-being of their employees. As part of their commitment to employee welfare, the farm has provided sponsorship to two high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supporting them in obtaining their school qualifications. There is a hopeful outlook that this sponsorship program will expand in the future, enabling more students to benefit from educational opportunities facilitated by the farm.
